Raining Salzburg.

Among the piles of travelogues

For my first post of 2021, I wanted to post Salzburg.

A beautiful city in western Austria that was recommended by many people.

In Salzburg, where I stayed, the sky was dark with rain and dark clouds the entire time.

It is said that travel depends a lot on the weather, but

Still, in hindsight, I didn’t hate drab Salzburg.

I walked around the city with the idea of seeing just one side of the city’s tens of thousands of charms.

On the train from Vienna to Salzburg.

Take a break while looking at the scenery outside the window.

From then on, I felt that the sky was unusually dark.

A gray, moist city after the rain.

The green color of the water-soaked trees became more shiny, making me feel soft.

It was said that there is a restaurant that you must visit when you come to Salzburg.

That’s right, a Korean restaurant attached to Mozart University!

Slurp down rice with kimchi stew, stir-fried pork, and stir-fried squid.

It was rainy and empty, but I really enjoyed the meal.

Of course Mozart University is a famous music school, right?

I could faintly hear the sound of a piano playing.

Take a look at the cool and clean interior,

Oh, I miss campus life again…

Fill up your stomach and explore the cloudy city.

European architecture is beautiful to look at.

Foreigners would be equally amazed when they see our country’s traditional architecture.

As expected from Mozart’s city, traces of Mozart were visible here and there.

This place is said to be Mozart’s house.

Soft creamy apricot color.

Mozart’s birthplace, standing tall in an alley lined with shops, is colored citron.

I didn’t really feel it when I looked around the city at the time, but when I came back and looked at the photos I took,

Salzburg’s houses and buildings seem to have a lot of yellow pastel tones.

Getreidegasse, where Mozart’s birthplace is located,

Pretty store signs stand out.

A vintage shop I entered by chance,

My eyes are busy with the splendor.

It’s been a long time since I went to church, but… my baptismal name is Flora.

I heard he was a saint, but is this really him?

Vintage tableware that makes you happy just by looking at it.

I don’t know the name of the river because it’s difficult.

The bridge built over the river was impressive.

It would have been more beautiful if the weather had been nice.

Still, crossing the river against the backdrop of gloomy weather is still charming.

A bridge that reminds me of the lock of Namsan Tower in Korea.

I don’t know what kind of mindset people here put on locks, but

I think that in every country, it would be worn similarly as a promise of love.

residence square,

Tourists holding colorful umbrellas can be seen in the vast plaza.

It was nice that it wasn’t crowded.

How to go to Hohensalzburg Castle

You have to climb a very steep hill.

Mini cable car? I climbed up on the same thing.

A view out the window with raindrops forming.

When you go up,

The city is visible at a glance.

Perhaps because of the weather, the castle looks more gloomy.

Harry Potter bgm comes to mind.

To climb higher even after arriving

Climb the stairs again and again.

I really hate carrying an umbrella (I hate luggage so much).

Still, I enjoyed the trip and had a good time.

Come back down and see the castle from the square.

The identity of this golden ball was unknown, but

I assume that even the statue of the man on top has a deep meaning.

It was even more precious to discover such bright colors on a cloudy day.

Entering Salzburg Cathedral

The grandeur you can feel right away.

I always feel that the cathedrals in Europe are truly amazing and wonderful.

In front of the Virgin Mary picture frame,

People’s wishes are coming together and shining.

What did I wish for…

Yellow here too! The house in front is also cream yellow!

Salzburg people clearly like yellow!!

When you come to Austria, you must try the original Viennese coffee.

A pretty famous coffee shop I stopped by.

I remember it being inside the hotel.

Red velvet sofa and gorgeous chandelier, nice mood.

I really wanted to go there in the evening

I visited the monastery beer Augustiner Brau.

The name Augustiner Broglie is very saintly.

Hey… this is also a cream color…

I liked that the beer glass was huge. hehe

I remember it being very soft and delicious!

Choose your snacks wisely.

The next day,

Eat a hearty breakfast.

I came to Hellbrunn Palace. (Hey, yellow here too)

It is famous for its Renaissance palace and beautiful gardens.

I was hoping the weather would be nice, but this day was still rainy and cloudy.

Europe is always serious about murals and ceiling paintings.

I really want to see the work being done while hanging from the walls and ceiling.

A fascinating and bizarre museum.

Born from mix max

My creature with the head of a swan, the body of a dog, and the tail of a fish.

The garden was really large and pretty.

There were many fountains of strange shapes created here and there.

I think it was said to be the pride of this palace at the time.

Rainy park.

Looking at the neatly trimmed trees in the park makes me feel at ease.

Even if it wasn’t raining, I would have sat on the bench and been dazed…

For lunch,

A recommended local pizza restaurant.

The pepperoni pizza and lasagna tomato tomato cheese were greasy and good.

The rain did not stop violently,

I entered the Mirabell Palace and gardens with an umbrella.

Roses planted here and there,

Red, yellow and pink roses are pretty.

When it rains, the colors definitely seem to become more vivid.

This concludes our trip to Austria.

For my next trip, I took a train to Prague, Czech Republic.

There was a train delay, so I had to transfer to a bus midway.

The road to Prague was very difficult ㅜ.ㅜ

I changed to the last night train and headed to Prague in the pitch darkness…

When will I be able to travel abroad again because of Covid-19?

There’s really no promise, but…

Still, looking closely at the old photos,

I find comfort by recalling and recording the memories of that time.

Bring out the precious moments you had forgotten

Because it’s about planting sparkle in your head and heart.

I decided to continue recording despite my laziness..!
