Pyeongyang Naengmyeon: A New World

I overlooked it. I dared to assume it would be a familiar taste. With the complacent thought that it was just a palate cleanser at a BBQ restaurant, food that’s hard to digest if eaten wrong, or perhaps just a blander version of that, I ignored Pyeongyang Naengmyeon for 29.5 years and never bothered to try it. Then recently, while looking for a place to eat alone, I stumbled upon Pyeongyang Naengmyeon by chance and impulsively tried it, and I fell in love.

It’s not “I just discovered this taste now,” but rather “I’m even more grateful to have discovered this taste late.” For me, someone who doesn’t have picky eating habits and especially loves food, knowing and seeking out many dishes, Pyeongyang Naengmyeon has opened up a new world after quite a long time.

On June 8, 2021, I first met you and spent six wonderful times with you. I had to retreat temporarily because of the damned Level 4 restrictions, but once the situation eases a bit, I will seek you out first. That’s all for today. I will describe the taste after spending an eternity with you, without rushing, and without regret.
