[Interpretation Grad School Entrance Exam for Office Workers] Utilizing Lee Chang Yong English Academy

Like a green frog, overcoming my early-year laziness(?), I’ve changed my mind even in the late afternoon and am writing one more post about preparing for the interpretation grad school entrance exam as an office worker..! Huzzah!!!

As with all exams, I believe it’s best to utilize entrance exam academies as much as possible to get various information such as admission procedures and test types. While it may differ depending on one’s circumstances, study methods, and characteristics, one must at least have a minimum level of information. When I decided to take the interpretation grad school entrance exam, the first thing I looked into was academy information. I judged that there was clear value to be gained by investing capital to save my time and effort, so I utilized an academy without hesitation.

I’m not entirely sure, but it seems the number of interpretation grad school entrance exam academies has decreased significantly compared to the past. After several searches, I decided on , which is the oldest and still chosen by many aspiring interpretation students. As an office worker, weekday morning/day classes weren’t an option. Fortunately, my company was a 15-minute walk from the academy, so weekday evening classes could be considered.

In this post, I want to share my own methods of utilizing an academy while preparing for the entrance exam as an office worker.

📌****Make Good Use of the Free Trial Classes Offered Twice a Month

Before choosing academy classes, there are many factors to consider, such as the instructor, curriculum, teaching method, and atmosphere.

When reviews written by others aren’t enough, the best way is to experience it yourself! Lee Chang Yong English Academy allows you to audit classes for free twice a month. If you check the trial class dates for the classes you’re curious about and sign up to attend, you can save money/time.

For detailed information on how to apply for trial classes, please check the academy’s website,,

Classes available for trial application are posted every month. Just check the trial date/time and register for the class, and you’re done!

Before choosing a class to pay for (with money earned through blood, sweat, and tears), I definitely made sure to attend a trial class first.

📌****Creating an Academy Class Curriculum That Suits Me

Since I attended the academy while working, I only took weekday evening classes in January, and from February onwards, I only took weekend classes to conserve my energy.

Below, I’ve added the classes I took each month along with very brief comments. Please note that these were chosen to suit my situation and study style,,

[On-site+Remote] Interpretation Basics B

Heo Hoon

I was impressed by the instructor’s multifaceted knowledge, like a walking encyclopedia, and it helped me understand the overall interpretation profession.

Lee Chang Yong

The director’s classes have a unique warm, fatherly atmosphere.

Somehow, it feels like there’d be a professor like this in Harry Potter. A scholarly style class with subtle humor.

Took a break from the academy for a while, reviewed materials received from the academy, and tried to study alone (but barely did ㅎ.ㅎ)

  • It was also a very busy time at work ㅠㅠ

[On-site+Remote] English Summary/Essay Writing Weekend

Kim Kyung-min

A “spicy truth bomb” instructor, a neat Power J who organizes the lectures. I think it might be polarizing, but I absolutely loved it! I think it’s the most tailored class for preparing for the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies exam. If the previous classes were theoretical and a bit “soft,” these classes felt like full-fledged mock exams,,, I went home every week after class carrying despair and frustration ㅎ.ㅎ

Maybe because the exam was approaching, class registration became fierce. I failed to register for the HUFS 2nd Round Mock Exam, so I gave up on taking classes ㅋ.ㅋ

Missed the registration period and just let go of studying and my mindset (my mindset was to just take the exam this year for the sake of it,,). It seems I got burned out from tackling it too enthusiastically from January while working.

I need to do some warm-up studying to get myself revved up before applying, but why is it so hard to start ㅎ.ㅎ

Let’s wait until ‘that feeling’ comes ,,,,
