Angel's Trumpet and Anemone

I’ve completed a pastel project where I aimed to draw my favorite flowers for each season!

I’ve already posted about spring magnolias and summer trumpet vines, so I’m documenting my drawings to commemorate finishing the autumn Angel’s Trumpet and winter Anemone.

The completed works,,

#Anemone

I actually discovered the flower called Angel’s Trumpet quite by chance. I was walking around my neighborhood and found a really beautiful flower, and then while browsing Pinterest for autumn flower ideas, I thought, “Oh! This flower!!!!” and learned its name was Angel’s Trumpet.

So, drawing the Angel’s Trumpet, which was chosen this way,, was harder than I expected, and I worried a bit at first if I could express it well..

I practiced in my sketchbook before adding color, and the more I drew, the more I understood how to bring out its essence.

I gradually added color,,

When I made the background darker, the flower really popped and came to life!

The way it looks different depending on the lighting,,, I guess that’s why lighting is so important.

I thought a lot about what winter flower to draw. I didn’t want anything too common, and winter isn’t exactly the season for flowers…

Then I discovered the white Anemone!!!

White, sky blue, light purple,, As I layered these colors by hand, colors that suit winter, I felt refreshed and invigorated the whole time I was drawing,,

The completed Anemone,, Thanks to the purple background, it created an even more velvety, wintery feel!

What should I draw for my next project . Happy dilemma,,💜
